Owner and Artistic Director of PAA for 17 years
Robyn Naugle is from Morgantown, West Virginia and has been dancing since the age of two. She attended West Virginia University for two years on a Dance and Leadership Scholarship and was a member of the Pom Squad and Mountain Jazz dance company. Ms. Naugle then transferred to Point Park University where she was on the deans list, treasurer of the dance club, and resident adviser. She graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in dance with an emphasis in Jazz. Professional performances include a variety of shows at Busch Gardens Tampa, Florida and Williamsburg, VA., Lakeview Theatre Company in Morgantown WV, and the Commonwealth Musical Stage in Virginia Beach, VA. Choreography credits include the following productions; West Virginia Public Theatre Sound of Music and Peter Pan, Dorney Amusement Park, Allentown, PA as a Summer Show Choreographer, Morgantown High School Images(show choir)in WV choreographer of Fosse, Copacabana, and Wicked, Morgantown High School, WV Majorettes, Cheerleaders and Jr. Orchesis; Morgantown Dance Studio’s The Nutcracker, Playhouse Dance Theatre, Point Park University, PA student choreography piece which was featured in the faculty show entitled Oceanography and was invited to perform at (ACDFA), Liberty Theatre Company, VA Strike Up The Band, and Christopher Newport University, VA Amorous Flea. Ms. Naugle is currently entering her 19th year as Owner/Artistic Director of Northern West Virginia Performing Arts Academy (NWVPAA) in Morgantown, West Virginia. NWVPAA production performances have featured Bugsy Malone and Jazz Nutcracker in addition to NWVPAA Company Dances receiving choreography awards from On Stage New York, Star Quest International, Dance Creations, and Star Systems Dance Competitions. Ms. Naugle currently also teaches at Studio 19 Dance complex in Cranberry, PA and Tap classes at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland,PA. and is a substitute dance teacher at Seneca Valley 7th-12th grade school. She provides strong leadership in the arts and technique in all styles of dance to student dancers who are committed to achieving the best that they can be!
Gabby is currently a student at WVU attending on a full dance scholarship. We are more than ecstatic to have her on the PAA team.
Ruth is a graduate of PAA and former competitive dancer. She was a member of the WVU dance ensemble and taught creative arts classes for WVU Summer students. She graduated from Fairmont State with a major in English and a minor in History. She has been teaching for eight years at PAA.
Demiah studied Dance at WVU whiling minoring in Theater. He previously choreographed a piece for the WVU “Dance Now” dance concert. He has performed with The Theater West Virginia in Beckley, Potomac State College and the Old Opera House. He is excited to become an intricate member of the PAA family.
Madison had been training at PAA for 16 years and at Studio 19 Dance Complex in Cranberry, PA for two two years. She is also a dance instructor at Studio 19. She is a recipient of several dance scholarships which include Hollywood Vibe, ASH, Joffry Ballet and Jazz Summer Program. Additionally, she received a Young Choreographers Award from American Dance Awards. She has performed for the past two years for entertainer Mark Millovats Christmas Show in Pittsburgh, PA at the Byham Theater.
Rachel Sine is the Tumbling Instructor and loving the opportunity to get to work with all of the PAA Students. She was a National gymnast for 13 years including a year on the WVU Gymnastics Team. Highlights include multiple State Championships, Qualifier to level 10 Nationals, and winning All Around and Bars at the 2009 U.S. Cover Girl Classic. Unfortunately, due to a back injury, she had to retire early but it’s enabled her to work at the Performing Arts Academy. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Gil Mathias / Tumbling Instructor
Gill is originally from Texas and moved to Tennessee to play College football for MTSU. After football he transitioned to the varsity cheer team at MTSU for two years. Gil assisted the squad for four years before moving to West Virginia to coach All Star Chearleading. He is well seasoned and has over 15 years of coed cheer experience and 12 years of coaching tumbling.
